Update

Since the last post, my sponsored idea has turned into a work group, I've hired and trained one position, and am training another position this week. There has been a lot of turbulence, but my boss recognized it and communicated with me about it. I didn't realize what an impact a quick 15-minute conversation could have on my mental/emotional state. We had a short conversation about the current work circumstances, the future, etc. (yes, very quick), and then I had a relaxing weekend playing with the kids, exercising, and just letting the tension go. As a result, I was much more efficient and able to adapt to my changing environment today. I wasn't sure that the calm would last through a whole day, but it did. I still have energy at the end of the day. It is a miracle!!!

Sponsored!!!

I recently brought an idea for improvement to my supervisor, and she told me who I would need to talk with to get feedback and told me she would be glad to help me, if I needed it. At first, it just sounded like one of those "sure, now go talk to this person who will say it's a good idea, but is not implementable" tactics. Regardless, I set-up the appointment and put together a write-up of the idea. The write-up was more for my benefit, really. I needed to get my thoughts organized and somewhere where I could review them and make modifications and additions. I think better that way for some reason.
Anyway, I asked my supervisor to review it when she had a chance, so she said that if I was ready, we could review it right then. So we did. At the end of that meeting, she was sponsoring my idea and told me that she is going to share what I was doing with the COO of the organization!!! Who knew that going out on a ledge could get some much attention? Hopefully my idea is actually good enough and implementable so something will happen. If not, at least I won't be wondering what would have happened if I had brought it up.

Morning Thoughts

It is so wonderful to wake up warm in the morning feeling fully rested with nowhere to go in a hurry. To hear the children playing happily in the other room. Now if we could just have some green grass, singing birds, and sunshine it would be perfect!

Trying Again

I haven't been very successful at being disciplined to sitting down and blogging at least once a week, but I'm hoping to start improving on that. My life is starting to take a more serious, steady note - sort of.
Kids and husband are still hard to keep up with, but everything seems to be settling into place. We own the house now, and have been here a few months. It is wonderful to know that we have a place that we can call home and don't have to worry about what to do if the rent goes up - just the taxes. :( We'll get the hang of it.
Works is going well. My boss is great, although there are changes in the air. One of our key members just resigned, and we'll miss her dearly. We'll see what happens. I don't want to say anything until it is completely final.
My daughter is super close to walking - stands up from a sitting position without any prop help. Really scary!! I can't believe how quickly they are growing up!!
That's all for now! I'll be back! :)
Awesome! I finally got my cell phone to post to my blog!

The World Never Stops Changing

As usual, we have more things changing, again. Habitat for Humanity came to our house this last Tuesday to do a home visit and review financials. It went well, and we will possibly be on the list. We could get bumped up on the list if we take a lot that noone else on the list wants or know someone who will donate land for our lot; but first we have to be accepted by the Family Selection Committee and be voted onto the waiting list by the Board of Directors. What a long process!
On another front, my sister got her SAT scores back and is going for her GED test in March (24 and 25, I believe), and she now has a new boyfriend (Anthony). She met him where she goes to study for her GED. I can't say much about the relationship yet, as I've only met the guy twice for like 2 minutes.
There is also more possibility of getting a raise at work eventually (about six months).
